All the pink and blue is simply the background “filler” color. It will most likely be covered up. This picture demanded that the background be painted simultaneously with the portrait itself. Unlike Francisco’s portrait, this one has lots of background color in the beginning.
I really want this portrait to have a graffiti feel. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a graffiti-like painting. I think the last one I can really remember is a large painting of sneakers that I did for my friend Adolf:

I want it to be outlined in black, with messy, spray paint-like drips and smears. I’m not sure Diamond’s face will stay pink. Probably not.
